What are the Cyber Cats?

Cyber Cats are the students who help teachers and staff with technology.  This isn't a club in the traditional sense of the word.  We do not meet as a group of people.  Instead, this is a class that students sign up for that provides work experience in the field of technology.

As the Technology Coordinator at Arvada West High School, I am in charge of all technology.  Every SMARTboard, projector, printer, computer, laptop, Chromebook, DVD player, iPad, etc... in the building.  I need help maintaining the equipment and my Cyber Cats do that work.

My Cyber Cats are pulled from my Computer Maintenance, Computer Systems, and Computer Science Foundations classes as they earn the path to Work Place Experience.  The Cyber Cats are assigned to a period of the day and given a variety of tasks, mostly Chromebook repair and teacher classroom support.

If you are interested in becoming a Cyber Cat, sign up for the Computer Science Foundations, or Computer Maintenance class.

We use the testout.com software to earn our industry standard certifications.  We also take time for hands on experience in repairing Chromebooks, replacing projectors, troubleshooting sound systems, etc.  The goal of the course is to meet the student's interest in pursuing a certification or degree in the field of IT.

Come visit us anytime!  We are located in N126A.
